4. Copy, Paste and AutoFill

Lesson 4 of 9
Task 1 of 3
  1. Copy the quantity 2 from C2 into every row C3:C6.

Lesson theory
  • Ctrl+C copies, Ctrl+V pastes. A moving dashed border surrounds what you copied; Esc removes it;
  • the fill handle is the small square in the bottom-right corner of the selection. Drag it and the value or formula is copied to the neighboring cells;
  • when you copy a formula, its addresses shift: =B2*C2 becomes =B3*C3 one row down;
  • Ctrl+Z undoes the last action.

You can also copy one cell into a large range at once: press Ctrl+C on the cell, select the range, press Ctrl+V.

fx

Enter — commit · F2 — edit · F4 — $ in a reference · Ctrl+C/Ctrl+V — copy and paste · Ctrl+Z — undo

Esc or F6 — leave the sheet for the «Check» button · Shift+Tab in the first cell — back to the page
