Lesson 2 of 9
Task 1 of 4
  1. In A4, add the city "Phoenix".

Lesson theory

To enter data, select a cell and start typing. Enter commits the entry and moves down, Tab commits and moves right, Esc cancels. To edit what is already in a cell, press F2 or double-click it.

A range is a rectangle of cells, written with a colon: A1:C3 is the 9 cells from A1 to C3. You can select a range with the mouse or with Shift+arrow keys. The Name Box shows its size.

You can also type an address into the Name Box (for example E10) and press Enter. Excel jumps straight to that cell.

fx

Enter — commit · F2 — edit · F4 — $ in a reference · Ctrl+C/Ctrl+V — copy and paste · Ctrl+Z — undo

Esc or F6 — leave the sheet for the «Check» button · Shift+Tab in the first cell — back to the page
